COP 28 Youth Collaboration
EB Impact is super proud to have worked alongside Ning Yiran, Nicholas Ong Yew Hui, Hao Yu Liew (刘浩宇) and Rachel Wong, delegates from both the Climate Development Youth Programme and National University of Singapore, who took the time to collaborate with us whilst they were managing their own duties and interests at COP. All our youth collaborators created authentic content with fresh on-the-ground perspectives on issues such as Greenwashing in Regenerative Agriculture, and Inclusivity in Negotiation Rooms.

Earthshot Prize
What an exciting event this was for the EB Impact team & our Sustainability Exchange youths, who we were able to bring along to this prestigious award ceremony.
Aside from our first peek into such a glamorous and high-profile event, it was inspiring to see climate innovations from around the world get recognised for their potential and be awarded to create more possibilities for themselves.
As the winning teams of Sustainability Exchange progress into implementing their projects, this event affirmed the need for everyone to step up and be part of solutions that allow for a sustainable future.

Sustainability Circle Meet-up with SG EcoFund
We're feeling grateful and inspired after attending the Sustainability Circle meet up with fellow recipients of the SG Eco Fund from the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment (MSE).It's amazing to see the wide scope of ground-up projects initiated by communities and individuals. From using mycellium (root-like structure of a mushroom) to bind organic by-products, to repurposing plastic waste to create a full drum set, it felt like the creativity of the Eco Fund grantees was unbounded!

MarinAlive Festival
EB Impact participated in City Sprouts MarinAlive event where we held a booth and ran a VR experience alongside Eco-Business. We met many families and children, and were lucky to have our Sustainability Exchange Alumni, Agroath, join us!
The booth showcased EB Impact's Mission, our Sustainability Exchange alumni projects and also gave members of the public to experience the Arctic through the Meta Quest Virtual Reality Headset. Eco-Business' 2019 documentary titled 'Changing Course' depicts what it feels like to sail through melting ice close to the North Pole during the midnight sun, witness the daily life of communities struggling with a water crisis, and peek inside some of Singapore’s infrastructure efforts to help it adapt to climate change.

World Clean Up Day 2022
In September, in partnership with Stridy, Cosentino, Coastal Natives and Kindred Communit , and supported by the Climate Action Singapore Alliance (CASA), we brought together the “clean-up community” in Singapore in spirit of collaboration and grassroots, community-centred efforts to raise awareness and advocacy for a cleaner environment.
At the community gathering, hosted on September 16th, we were joined by Guest-of-Honour, Her Excellency Iwona Prioko, EU Ambassador to Singapore, aimed to bring together a community of organisations and individuals in Singapore that worked towards the common goal of creating a clean, litter-free environment.
We hosted a panel discussion where panelists from across sectors, including non-profits, governments and the private sector, and how the sectors can better collaborate on waste management practices.
On September 18th we brought together a group of volunteers and set off to clean Tanah Merah Beach, where we collected 340kg of litter in 74 bags!

Wasted Film Premiere
Khin Thazin, a volunteer contributor for EB Impact, attended the exclusive premiere of Wasted, by Eco-Business on 2 December, at The Projector. After the film's premiere, Khin spoke to the attendees and did her own further research on how Asia has had to deal with the brunt of the world's waste crisis. Using the film as the basis for her investigation, Khin also demonstrates how some Asian countries have resiliently and smartly tackled this huge issue. What more can be done to alleviate the burden of waste in Asia?

Waves of Change Festival 2023: The Deep Sea Dilemma
Narrated by Jason Momoa, Deep Rising illuminates the vital relationship between the deep ocean and sustaining life on Earth. The documentary also follows mining startup The Metals Company, as it pursues funding, public favor, and permission from the International Seabed Authority to mine wide swaths of the Pacific Ocean floor.
This screening was followed by a discussion organised by Eco-Business, led by Dian Anderson, (formerly) Associate Director, EB Impact.
The Deep-Sea Dilemma: Do We Really Need to Dig Up the Ocean Floor to Power the Energy Transition? Mining the seabed could come at a significant environmental cost, wrecking the biodiversity of poorly understood ecosystems, ruining fisheries and altering the oxygen-carrying capacity of the ocean. Negotiations are now underway to set the rules for industrial-scale mining of the ocean floor. But do we really need to dig up the ocean floor? What are the alternatives? Together, we discuss the deep-sea mining dilemma.
